Athletes Foot (tinea pedis) is a fungal infection of the skin of the foot - It can be in the webs or on the sole of the foot.  If not treated, it will damage the webs, travel to other parts of the foot, and, if it moves to the toenails, it can seriously damage them - at this point it is called Onychomycosis. Treated early it can be easily controlled. Our Athletes Foot Ointment is formulated for a quick attack and will help to clear this irritating and contagious condition.

  PIONEER ATHLETES FOOT OINTMENT
 EXTRA FORMULA
Our Athletes Foot Balm has been a feature of our regular market offerings for some years. However, since our entry into the equine, canine and country occupations communities, we have had a demand for a robust formula. In many country occupations, after a hard day in stables, farmyards or out in the fields and woods, feet that have been enclosed in boots, wellingtons or riding boots need air, a thorough washing down and very careful attention to drying. Otherwise feet that are susceptible to Tinea Pedis will suffer. And Tinea can be quite serious if not attended to on a regular basis. As a very general rule of thumb, if you suffer from dandruff, flaky scalp, yeast infection and/or you perspire freely, then you may also be prone to Tinea Pedis (Athletes Foot).

It is also a very common occurence for equestrians and agricultural workers to have a foot damaged with a horse's hoof.( the traditional term for this was "Ostler's Toe"). This is where the big toenail is damaged by a blow or a crushing action as a horses foot comes to ground. If not very carefully managed, the damaged toenail will become infected with an Onychomycotic fungus that will eat the nail away, spread to the adjacent nails and put the forefoot at risk. (Incidentally, the Americans call White Line Disease - Onychomycosis. It is, after all, a fungal disease of the keratin of the foot).

We have developed a stronger version of our standard Athletes Foot Balm especially for our equestrian, field pursuits and country based customers who need a really effective and fast acting balm that will attack the range of bacteria and fungal spores that cause this irritating and frustrating condition. Buy it with confidence. Because it works! If it doesn't work for you - then send it back and we shall refund your purchase price and postage. (we havent had to do that yet!).  Apply the ointment daily. Rub it in very well until the olive oil is absorbed. Let your feet breathe for a while before putting socks and/or footwear back on.

PLEASE NOTE: The spores that cause Athletes Foot will congregate in the material of the shoe, or boot INSIDE the boot - that is the material that faces your skin, and will also not be killed in the wash if you wear man made fibre socks, tights or stockings inside the boot. (these items are washed at temperatures of around 40C, which will not kill bacteria and fungal spores. You need to wear cotton socks because they can be washed at higher temperatures (above 50C is essential). At the same time, buy some Athletes Foot powder from your pharmacy and sprinkle it INSIDE your boots so that it kills the spores clinging to the material that faces your socks and skin. Not much point in treating your feet and then putting them inside footwear that is hiding spores.
NB: Allergies: This balm includes Tea Tree and Thyme Oils.
