PIONEER HERBAL BALM FOR SWEET ITCH IN HORSES

Thousands of horses suffer from this dibilitating condition. It is not the midge bite itself that causes the infection, but the action of the poor horse attempting to "scratch the itch." We formulated this balm from TWO natural oils and FIVE herbs. The main thrust is as a bactericidal, but some herbal elements are included to assist the skin to resist what is, to a large extent, an immune system complaint.  The constant rubbing and scraping results in a dermatitis that has little chance of subsiding.     Use our antifungal, antiseptic liquid soap and work up a rich lather over the entire area. Let the lather lie for several minutes, then dab dry. (do not wash off). Now apply the balm sparingly across the entire affected area.  The oil content of the balm is an excellent insect repellent and will reject mosquitoes, midges and flying insects.   The applied balm may need to be gently rubbed in again to dissipate the surface oil.  This surface oil must not be rubbed off.  Covering the area is recommended.      Most insects, midges included, cloud in the early morning to catch the warming rays of the sun, and again at dusk, when the temperature starts to fall. These are periods of maximum insect activity and the horse should be protected.
